We are a new agency setup in Ålesund norway.
We have requests for 4 supervisors preferably with XLX experience.
The work will be in Baku early May.
4-6 week rotations. Must speak coherent English.

Also pilots requested for a project in the baron sea, late May. 3 week project.

Well I am wondering what there going to bring out next , Since its no longer a case of having FOET / HUET & EBS we now have CA-EBS plus MIST then some clients also want HV certs plus there own on line courses and now
shoulder measurements .

At this rate there be asking you for money for a survival suit ! Its funny as on many of the projects over in Asia you wear full PPE on the chopper " No Hard Hat but Boots and Overalls " Next problem is Slip on boots or Lace up boots .
I think Europe was only Lace up boots but in Australia it was slip on boots .

I think we are in the wrong job guys it should be how to milk extra money out of offshore workers .

I am selling a Control Van for a Comanche ROV. It has everything inside ready to connect it to the vehicle. Includes monitors, video switch, PDU, joysticks, DVRs, transformers, a/c system, some spares, etc. It also has the tether and the surface TMS and crane.

It is practically the ROV system without the vehicle. It can work for other sub-Atlantic ROVs.

The CA-EBS from what I understand is classed as a SUBA device and whole new set of rules have to be followed and at present OPITO have not released guidelines for use in the helicopter training tank, so the old type EBS is still being used.

On a job in Mexico, the client insist on everyone wearing Mexican Safety Boots. They where murder on your feet and of poor quality, I am sure they where both different sizes. I pushed the sole off the boot after only having them for three months. Another guy got threatened with being run off for wearing his UK lace up boots.

Maybe making everyone pay for their food offshore would be the way to go. It would help on the obesity problem offshore. The Armed Forces now have to pay their mess bills despite it being free and part of the wages in the distant past.

Why not just not issue super size Survival Suits without a measurement?

What % of persons really have a shoulder width of over 22inches working offshore? In NSea sectors anyway?


I would bet its less than 15% of the work force

Working in Danish Sector

Looking for a bit of advice, I'm a UK resident and normally operate through my own UK Ltd. I'm going to be working in the Danish sector soon, but have been given two choices on how to be paid- either gross (and I have to do all the tax stuff) or net (and the agent sorts it out). What do most people do? Is it simple enough to keep right of Danish tax?

Does an ADCI cert help with getting a job in ROV's?

It will help you get a JOB with a small Diving company which has ROV,S If the ROV Manager is a Diver and see's your CV for sure it will help you change to ROV's that type of company is the one you should be looking for if you are more than a Bubble head.

So try to get work with a company which has small Eye ball ROV's and let them know your interest while Diving and work It that way.


If you are Mechanical Hydraulic Electrical Technician etc then easy to change to ROV just contact the Company's down the Gulf area.

I don't know how the course is viewed in the states so can not comment there.

Another cute trick is often times the client will pay for a business class flight to get you to the job site. Your agency/employer etc, gets you an economy ticket and keeps the difference. The difference makes up a considerable chunk of your wages - so at the end of the day, they are paying far less for you than they are charging the client - which is about 2- 3 times the rate of what they are paying YOU.
