ROV Pilot Technician Trainee - Seeking Experience

I have recently discharged from the Royal Australian Navy where I was an Electronic Technician Submariner and now I'm looking at entering the ROV industry.

I served for 10 years in the Navy as an Electronic Technician, and as part of my job I have conducted pre and post starts on Sonar, Communications systems, Networks, Navigational Aids, as well as fault finding and repairs, I’ve removed and installed a wide range of high end electronic systems both on Submarines and Surface ships. Throughout my Naval Career I maintained a very high work ethic and was reported highly on from my supervisors.

I have just recently completed my ROV04 Commercial Oilfield ROV Pilot course from Subnet Services Ltd in the Philippines, in which I finished with a final exam result of 96% as well as finishing on top of the class during our flying training on both the Sea-Botix and the Navajo ROVs. My course included Electronics , Fibre Optics (under FOA guidelines), High Power and Hydraulics. This was conducted in Manila under the watchful eyes of instructors from MFI Foundation Inc.

My training then continued in Subic Bay at IDESS Maritime Centre, where under the guide of Subnets Instructors we were trained up the health and safety requirements of living and working offshore as well at safety within the ROV work environment. We conducted both night time and day time flying using the Sea-Botix LBV150-4 and Sub-Atlantic Navajo. During this time we in counted a few faults on both ROVs including simple thrust faults to telemetry faults which where all fixed in a timely manner. I have completed my offshore UKOOA Medical (American Outpatients Clinic) and my OPITO BOSIET (IDESS Maritime Centre Inc.)

I am extremely excited about starting this new career, and I’m available immediately for any possible work (short term or long term work), and I'm willing to travel anywhere where I can gain the experience I need.

If you feel that perhaps my training and experience in the Navy would show me as a good fit for one the positions in which you are currently hiring or for any position that may come up in the future, please do not hesitate to contact me.
